3 Primary (i.e. Elementary) Teachers needed in sunny, Southern China - immediate start!
3 Primary teachers needed at a selective private school delivering a bilingual School (Chinese/English) and UK curriculum to 1900 students from Years 1 - 12. The school is in Shenzhen a sunny, cosmopolitan city of Southern China - very close to Hong Kong. While this is not an international school most Western country nationals are represented at the school. At the same time this is a great opportunity to gain a more authentic Chinese experience than in international schools in the country and for this reason requires cultural tolerance and understanding.
Primary to Junior Teachers (Year 1-9) can expect to be paid up to GBP21,000 (US33,000). Allowances are paid both for flights and accommodation and medical insurance is offered subject to successfully passing a medical examination. The school will assist teachers to find suitable accommodation, gives guidance to new teachers in their choice of area to live in and most foreign teachers live very close to shops, malls and the subway system.
The housing allowance covers both housing and expenses and teachers can expect to save at least GBP2000 (US3000). Contracts are for 2 years.
China in our imagination is both familiar and exotic, and China in reality is a huge and varied country that strongly values education. Welcoming to Western teachers and full expatriates flocking to the booming economy, China is a top destination for those who want to save over a third of their salary.
The school prefers to hire teaching couples; however as it is not an international school and is not suitable for teaching couples with children. Applicants must be fully qualified teachers, have a degree and a PGCE/HDE and have three or more years of experience (though they will consider those with less).
The schools are keen to get the jobs filled and will interview/offer quickly so do not delay.
Qualifications
We recruit only qualified/certified teachers from the following countries:

Teachers must be fully trained to teach in state schools in one of these countries and possess full qualification/certification with teacher training such as a Bachelors or Masters of Education, PGCE, Higher Diploma in Education, etc. South African teachers with only a diploma of education will have very limited opportunities as most Ministries of Education require a Bachelors degree in Education, and do not like the word Diploma.
Please note that these are not jobs teaching English as a foreign language and therefore a TEFL certificate and/or non-educational Bachelors degree alone is not enough.
