Description

One to two-year experience is required for a private English medium primary school for local children located in Kuwait. Teachers must be aware that this is not a typical western expatriate school and must be able and prepared to differentiate delivery on an English language basis, as well as being sensitive towards the local culture. This will suit single applicants and we are checking to see if the school will accept newly qualified teachers.

Salary is about KD750 (GBP1705/US2700) tax free per month and shared accommodation (1 other person in a very large apartment). Medical insurance and annual flights are offered.

Kuwait is a popular expatriate country offering a vibrant and varied social life that is close and friendly. There are many activity groups and sports clubs. Saving potential is high which is always an attraction for those with financial commitments back home or those who are looking to use the country as a stepping stone to travel further afield to Africa and Asia during the longer school breaks.

Highlights

Kuwait is seen:

From a nation of pearl divers and spice merchants to one of the world's largest oil exporters, Kuwait has undergone many exciting transformations.

A cosmopolitan and modern society that still pays homage to its heritage and traditions. It is a country of exciting enigmas and colourful contradictions. From the warm waters of the gulf to the mysteries of the desert, and from the traditional Arabian markets to opulent shopping malls, Kuwait is a dynamic and diverse country. With so much to offer and more left to discover.

Qualifications

We recruit only qualified/certified teachers from the following countries:
- United Kingdom/Ireland
- USA
- Canada
- Ireland
- Australia
- New Zealand

Teachers must be fully trained to teach in state schools in one of these countries and possess full qualification/certification with teacher training such as a Bachelors or Masters of Education, PGCE, Higher Diploma in Education, etc.

Please note that these are not jobs teaching English as a foreign language and therefore a TEFL certificate and/or non-educational Bachelors degree alone is not enough.

Due to the volume of applications, only successful candidates will be contacted but if you do not meet the above qualifications you will not be considered.
